Mario is an incredible owner, very patient, informative even when not making a sale. His integrity and authenticity are without equal. An owner has to be judged to be honest when he learns the potential buyer lives in the US and he is not allowed to sell the product in the US and then referred me to the US distributor for help. To all in Canada.. highly recommend giving Mario a chance!

This store has an excellent selection, much better than many high-end stores in Montreal. They have lots of brands and products, both new and used. We had budgeted about $3,000 for speakers and spent the entire day driving around town looking at amps and speakers at every store we could find and we finished the day at Audio d'Occasion. We regretted not starting the day there; it would have saved us a lot of time. The staff is honest, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about what they do. They do not hesitate to offer demonstrations, audition speakers, and make helpful suggestions, all in a low pressure environment. Some audio dealers feel like used car salesmen and push whatever they have in store. Not these guys. After listening to all kinds of music on different speakers and different setups, asking every imaginable question, and chatting with Sylvain, we walked out of there with a pretty good idea of the speakers we wanted but, like anyone reading this review, we had to read everything about them on the internet before going through with it. Every single thing Sylvain had explained about the speakers was right there in every product review we read. We came back Wednesday morning to order the speakers, left a deposit, and got a call a couple of hours later. They had arrived. I showed up just before closing. It took a couple of minutes to complete the transaction, they loaded the speakers into my car, shook my hand, and that was it! Our experience was so positive we will definitely be back for anything and everything audio related. This place is pure awesome.

I recently purchase a new Rega DAC-R from Audio d'Occasion. I received a factory-fresh unit for ca. 40% of what it would have cost locally, due to a great sale price and very good exchange rate. Shipping took ca. nine days, about four of which were spent in US Customs. I haven't connected the DAC to my system yet, as I am considering which coax interconnect to buy, though since the box was sealed and the unit powers up, everything looks fine. Thank you, M. Gagnon, I look forward to more purchases. UPDATE: Just received a bill from UPS for Duty, $22. That had been accounted for (duty calculator). No-one mentioned UPS brokerage charge of $57. Who messed up? Don't know. Don't buy from Canada. I won't repeat this experience.

Love this place, these Boys always give me A-1 service & advise ( with a big smile ), whether it's for new components or to get my old gear fixed '' Martin the magician '' knows his stuff'' at the repair shop... Mario, Stéphane ( le maître ) & Sylvain are like a second family to me :-)

I just recently purchased new speakers and a CX A60 Cambridge Audio amp from audio d’ occasion . My experience dealing with Mario was A1 from beginning to end. His knowledge and his patience was first class. I highly recommend shopping and dealing with Mario as I drive from Whitby Ontario to Montreal to make my purchase. Thanks again for excellent service.

Audio d'Occasion is a really good HiFi audio store. Shopped at the store a few years ago based on recommendation, and remember it being a very positive experience. Recently made a second visit and the experience was a great again. Don't often write reviews, but Mario and the store really deserve it! Very knowledgeable staff that do their best meet the customers needs and budget.

Service and Products are Unparalleled! Although I’ve only ordered online from HiFiPro/Audio d’Occasion, I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with the owner, Mario, via email. I must say that he is a man of great integrity, honesty and really cares about his customers. He goes out of his way to ensure that there is 100% customer satisfaction. The store has a fantastic selection – everything from good quality beginners’ equipment to high end audiophile components. I prefer to buy Canadian products, and support and shop at Canadian dealers like HiFiPro/Audio d’Occasion. This was my second purchase from Mario Gagnon at Hifipro.ca and I started my inquiry not knowing it was Thanksgiving Day until after and didn't expect a reply until the beginning of the week. He got back to me that day with the information and advice I requested. I made my decision to purchase the item online from Mario and everything was so professional and he was quick to reply and ship my order out. Recieved my order in 3 business days. He is very knowledgeable and courteous. Very pleased and will order again.
